In order for a child to feel safe and happy they need a warm and nurturing environment both physically and emotionally.  The emotional environment we offer at Brookside is a ‘family’ like atmosphere made up of close, caring relationships. We aim to offer a ‘home from home’ environment where every child feels valued, cherished, included and accepted.

 

Children experience gentle encouragement, guidance and support form familiar adults which supports their self-confidence and self esteem. If they wish, children receive cuddles and comfort within professional boundaries. For example when upset or cuddling up for a story.  We believe for many children this physical contact is vital to developing warm relationships and supporting their emotional well-being. 

 

Brookside offers a enabling environment organised in a way which allows children to follow their own interests, lead their own learning and make independent choices and decisions. Our environment is spacious with areas which promote different areas of learning along with opportunities to rest and be active.
